Kate is a journalist with more than 30 years’ experience working for national newspapers and magazines. Since stepping down as travel editor of The Independent on Sunday in 2012, she’s gone on to write about travel for titles including The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, i and National Geographic Traveller (UK), and has co-written two travel books, How To Pack For Any Trip (Lonely Planet, 2016) and Slow Travel Cheshire (Bradt, 2018). Kate is also co-founder of the specialist travel content and communications consultancy Traveltappers.co.uk and helped found Equality in Tourism, a charity dedicated to ensuring women have a voice in global tourism.
